Application Procedures    
  • Admissions testing is required for all grade levels. The Admissions Office will call to schedule individual testing appointments after an application has been submitted.
  •  During your child’s day visit, they will have a student host for the day and be our guest for lunch.
  •  All school records and recommendation forms must be sent to DKJA directly from your child’s school.

For grade specific requirements, see below:

 Kindergarten Applicants

  •  You must present your child’s original birth certificate prior to testing. A copy will be made and the original will be returned to you.
  •  A Teacher Recommendation Form must be completed by your child’s Pre-K teacher.
  •  Kindergarten applicants must attend a Group Activity Morning, date TBA.

 Applicants to Grades 1-4

  • Students are required to spend a full day in the classroom at DKJA as part of our admission procedure. During this scheduled visit, admissions testing will be administered.
  • A Teacher Recommendation Form must be completed by your child’s current teacher.
  • School records from the past two years must be submitted.

 Applicants to Grade 5

  • Students are required to spend a full day in the classroom at DKJA as part of our admission procedure. During this scheduled visit, admissions testing will be administered.
  •  Three recommendation forms must be completed by the student’s current Math and English teachers as well as a School Administrator. For those students who attend a Jewish Day School, two additional recommendation forms must be completed by the Judaic Studies and Hebrew teacher.
  • School records from the past two years must be submitted.

 Applicants to Grades 6 – 8

  •  Students are required to spend a full day in the classroom at DKJA as part of our admission procedure. During this visit, the student will have an interview with the Principal of Middle School or their designee.
  •  Three recommendation forms must be completed by the student’s current Math and English teachers as well as a School Administrator. For those students who attend a Jewish Day School, two additional recommendation forms must be completed by the Judaic Studies and Hebrew teacher.
  •  School records from the past two years must be submitted.
  •  Donna Klein Jewish Academy requires that candidates for grades 6-8 take the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) for admission. Test sites and dates are listed on www.ssat.org. Please specify DKJA's school code 2855 when completing the test registration to ensure scores are sent directly to Donna Klein Jewish Academy.

   Applicants to Grades 9-12

  • Students are required to spend a full day at the Claire and Emanuel G. Rosenblatt High School as part of our admission procedure. During this visit, the student will have an interview with the Principal of the High School or their designee.  Day visits will be scheduled by the Admissions Office once all school records and recommendation forms are received from your child’s school.
  •  Six recommendation forms must be completed by the student’s current Math, English, History, Science, and Foreign Language teachers as well as a School Administrator. For those students who currently attend a Jewish Day School, it will be necessary to have an seventh recommendation form completed by the Judaic Studies teacher.
  •  For applicants to Grade 9, school records from the past two years must be submitted.For applicants to Grades 10-12, high school transcripts must be submitted.Test sites and dates are listed on www.ssat.org. Please specify DKJA's school code 2855 when completing the test registration to ensure scores are sent directly to Donna Klein Jewish Academy.
