Physical Education

At DKJA, we develop students with a healthy mind and a healthy body.  Along with the physical benefits, athletic pursuits also instill important values such as teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and dedication.  Athletics provide young people with a forum in which they can achieve personal goals, make new friends, and develop a lifelong interest in personal fitness.

In physical education class, emphasis is placed on the President’s Council on Physical Fitness Tests.  Students may choose between two types of PE class.  In the team sports class, students learn the proper skills needed to succeed in volleyball, flag football, basketball, soccer, and softball.  In the group tennis instruction, students learn a lifetime sport with emphasis on the proper techniques of the forehand, backhand, and serve.
