Application Procedures
| Lower School |
| For Kindergarten Applicants |
|
1. Admission testing is required for all grade levels. Kindergarten applicants will be assessed one-on-one. The Admissions Office will call to schedule individual testing appointments.
2. It is necessary that you present your child’s original birth certificate prior to acceptance. A copy will be made and the original returned to you.
3. Kindergarten applicants also will be asked to attend a Sunday morning Group Activity Day which will be held on December 14, 2008. Completed applications and the Kindergarten Admissions Assessment Form must be received before the Group Activity Day visit.

| For Applicants to Grades 1 - 4 |
|
1. Students applying for these grades are asked to spend a day in the classroom at Donna Klein Jewish Academy as part of our admission procedure. Day visits will be scheduled by the Admissions Office as soon as all school records and the recommendation form are sent to us from your child’s school.
2. During this scheduled visit, admission testing will be administered.

| Middle School |
| For Applicants to Grade 5 |
|
1. Please note that there are three recommendation forms to be completed by the student’s current math and English teachers as well as the School Administrator. For those students who currently attend a Jewish Day School, it will be necessary to have two additional recommendation forms completed by the Judaic studies teacher and Hebrew language teacher.
2. Students applying for this grade are asked to spend a day in the classroom at Donna Klein Jewish Academy as part of our admission procedure. Day visits* will be scheduled by the Admissions Office as soon as all school records and the recommendation forms are sent to us from your child’s school.
3. During this scheduled visit, admission testing will be administered.

| For Applicants to Grades 6 - 8 |

1. Please note that there are three recommendation forms to be completed by the student’s current math and English teachers as well as the School Administrator. 2. Candidates for admission to these grades will be asked to spend a day* in the classroom at Donna Klein Jewish Academy as part of the admission procedure. During this visit, the student will have an interview with the Head of the Middle School or her designee.
3. Donna Klein Jewish Academy requires that candidates for grades 6-12 take the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) for admission. Test sites and dates are listed on the SSAT web site (www.ssat.org) or, if you need a registration booklet, please contact our Admissions Office at 561-852-6004. On the application, please specify if your child has already taken the test or which date the test will be taken. Our school code is 2855. Please make sure to send scores to Donna Klein Jewish Academy.

*Note: During the day visit, your child will have a student host for the day and be our guest for lunch.

| High School |
|
1. Please note that there are seven recommendation forms to be completed by the student’s current Math, English, History, Science, and Foreign Language teachers as well as the School Administrator. For those students who currently attend a Jewish Day School, it will be necessary to have an additional recommendation form completed by the Judaic Studies teacher.
2. Candidates for admission to these grades will be asked to spend a day in the classroom at the High School at Donna Klein Jewish Academy as part of the admission procedure. During this visit, the student will have an interview with the Principal of the High School or his designee. Day visits will be scheduled by the Admissions Office as soon as all school records (two years of report cards and any standardized testing) and the recommendation forms are sent to us from your child’s school.
3. Donna Klein Jewish Academy requires that candidates for our high school (9-12) take the Secondary School Admissions Test (SSAT) for admission. Test sites and dates are listed on the SSAT web site (www.ssat.org) or, if you need a registration booklet, please contact our Admissions Office. On the application, please specify if your child has already taken the test or which date the test will be taken. Our school code is 2855. Please make sure to send scores to Donna Klein Jewish Academy.
