The admission policy for Donna Klein Jewish Academy is to seek and accept those students who can benefit from an academically rigorous dual curriculum consisting of general and Judaic studies. As part of the admissions process, students are given admission testing to determine developmental readiness and academic achievement .Testing for grades Kindergarten through grade 5 is done on-site at DKJA. Students applying to grades 6-12 must register and take the Secondary School Admission Test. More information about dates and test sites for the SSAT is available on their website, www.ssat.org.
In addition to admission testing, Donna Klein Jewish Academy requires the student’s records as well as recommendation forms from current teachers, which will indicate how the child has been performing at his/her current or previous school(s).
Applicants to Donna Klein Jewish Academy also spend time in the classroom with our classroom teachers during a day visit to the school, or if they are a kindergarten applicant, at the kindergarten group activity day ( You may click here for Kindergarten Group Activity Day dates and times.) All middle and high school applicants are interviewed by our Middle School Principal, or High School Principal, or their designee.
Submitting Applications
We encourage all applicants to apply on-line. The on-line application (see links above) allows us to save trees and, at the same time, receive and process your application more quickly. To encourage on-line applications, we have discounted the application fee to $100.00. However, if you prefer, we will enclose an application with our viewbook and mail that to you. If you choose to mail your application to us, rather than submit it on-line, the application fee is $115.
